Jitterbug?

Meeting new people gives me the shakes. Literally, the shakes. My hands shiver, my shoulders get tied up in knots, and it doesn't help my tongue-tied state any!! Met someone at office today that I was supposed to help out with a cover and stuff compliments of the company and all that, and I'd spoken to him before, he'd worked for Appa and all, but the moment I hadda go down to the meeting room to discuss whatever, there were the shakes!!!

I have to get over this!! I'm nearly a quarter century into my life, and I simply cannot - and I mean cannot - continue this way. It affects my already tension-filled existence.. get outta my head!!!! How can I possibly go through life muttering the Litany Against Fear under my breath.. not that it always helps anyway!!! ARGGGGHHHHHH!!! (That seems to be my favourite expression these days!!!)

Fee Fi Fo Fum... Fetish Fun?!

Said my boss's daughter: "Everyone is allowed to have one fetish!"

I agree... how else would life be a blast in your own head? I don't know her very well, but her fetish seems to be shoes.. some of the prettiest and most unusual I've ever seen... curl-toed slippers, hot pink mules, white slippy-things, thick slippers (the ones that are all the rage now) .. you name it, she's worn it!! And she once said she doesnt have much creativity or imagination!!! HAH!! You can see glimpses of potential every time she's shod in a pair a mundane individual wouldn't be caught dead (or alive) wearing...

My fetish is my socks.. yes, people, I did say socks. I am most comfy in closed shoes, and since my fave ones 'died' from overuse, I've been living in 'keds' as and when I can... and the socks that are on the feet that are gently slipped and laced into those very comfy keds are bright, peppy or sober, and reflect my mood of the day... from black to blue to rainbow stripes to bee-stripes, to dogs and bugs and little sequinned ribbons, regular socks, tube socks, socks that have five toes each a different color!!! My socks have 'em all... and hey.. what's great is that I can indulge my fetish without a soul ever commenting "O-kay, so why are you wearing THAT?!" As sooo many very irritating and rude specimens of excuses for polite human society find it their main motivation in life to do!!! *Ptui! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their nether regions for eternity.*

So fetish away people.. and hey... EVERYTHING has potential.

'Cos I Like the Lyrics.....

There are weeks when all I listen to (while I drive at least) is Robbie Williams, interspersed with some weeks when it's ONLY Krishna or MSS, sometimes it's Sardari Begum or Gurtu... I like Mynta too though I've only ever heard one album.... relaxes me when I'm driving, and don't have to think much.... I particularly love the lyrics of Better Man (Rest In Arms) by Williams...

Send someone to love me
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer
Lord I feel the cold
Feel I'm getting old
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow old through this pain
Lord I'm doing all I can
To be a better man

Go easy on my conscience
Cos it's not my fault
I know I've been told
To take the blame

Rest assured my angels
Will catch my tears
Walk me out of here
I'm in pain

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow old through this pain
Lord I'm doing all I can
To be a better man

Once you found that lover
You're homeward bound
Love is all around
Love is all around
I know some have fallen on stony ground
But love is all around

Send someone to love me
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer
Lord I feel the cold
Feel I'm getting old
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow old through this pain
Lord I'm doing all I can
To be a better man
